At Cactus, we like bikes. We also like parties. Which is why we are thrilled to host the Fifth Annual Cactus Bike From Work Bash on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in celebration of Bike to Work Day. Since a big part of the bash about supporting Denver’s bike culture, all proceeds from the event will go to support Wish For Wheels, Denver’s bicycle advocacy organization. Since Bike From Work Bash is a community event, we know that we can’t throw this party alone, which is why we are asking for a little help.
Building on the success of the past 5 years, BFWB will once again be an evening of two-wheeled delight at the Cactus offices at 15th & Little Raven – a perfect stop for commuters, located next to Confluence Park, the Platte River and Cherry Creek trails, and just minutes from Union Station. The event will feature: food trucks, limited complimentary beer from our partners at Boulder Beer, entertainment, numerous door prizes, and a chance to party with Denver’s diverse bike community, all while supporting the work of Wish For Wheels.
Given the growth seen in the previous years, we are anticipating approximately 5,000 participants. Mostly 21-38 year-old urban professional types representing a wide cross section of the cycling community – everything from hipsters on fixies and casual riders on cruiser bikes to roadies, cyclocrossers, trials riders, BMXers and dirt lovers. In years past, we’ve even had a guy on a pennyfarthing (those vintage bikes with the giant front wheel).
The Cactus BFWB is a unique community event with a simple philosophy: have fun, promote a healthy lifestyle, support the environment, and build relationships within the community. While the event is free, partygoers are encouraged to show a little love by donating a few bucks to Wish For Wheels.
In years past, Cactus has funded the BFWB with in-kind support from like-minded companies. But as the event grows, it is no longer feasible to produce the bash without financial support from corporate partners. The BFWB offers partners and sponsors a unique opportunity to align with Denver’s biking community, gain visibility among a spirited audience, support a worthy cause, and market their products at a feel-good, after-work party.
